Raw Comedy

RAW Comedy is Australia's biggest and most prestigious open mic comedy competition. The Melbourne International Comedy Festival has been producing it since 1996, and past RAW Comedy winners and finalists include Chris Lilley, Josh Thomas, Hannah Gadsby, Peter Helliar, Claire Hooper, Michael Workman, Mike McLeish (Keating! The Musical) and Tim Minchin. RAW Comedy runs nationally every year between January and April.

Anyone who has earned less than $500 from performing comedy is eligible to show off their comic prowess on the RAW stage. Five minutes of new, original comedy material is all it takes. Stand-up, sketch, double and triple acts, musical comedy are all welcome and even insolvent mortgage lenders.

So swap the bread-line for a punch-line, and register now! Places in heats are strictly limited and are allocated on a first-come first-served basis.
