In Australia bands tour . . . and tour a lot, but few have made more use of hired Tarago s in the last six months than Australia s critically acclaimed CLARE BOWDITCH and the Feeding Set. After completing a very busy summer festival circuit off the back of her hugely respected sophomore recording What Was Left , Clare headed overseas for the first time where she charmed the lederhosen off the Europeans with intimate, electric solo shows. So much so that while she was there she was personally asked by the world s current number one singer-songwriter James Blunt, to accompany him on his first Australian tour. And as soon as she touched down, Clare also became one of the first Australian artists to be approached by the Splendour in the Grass promoters and she will feature in another truly remarkable line up in Byron Bay this July.
On the way to Splendour, Clare Bowditch and her insanely brilliant band The Feeding Set will do their largest headlining dates across Australia, taking in the width and breadth of this great land. Support comes from the magical Dan Kelly and the Alpha Males who are gearing up to release their second album this August; as well as our very own M.-Ward-meets-Tom-Waits-with-the-looks-of-a-young-Marlon- Brando; Dane Tucquet, who will join the Feeding Set for the Capitol City shows.
These could possibly be the final headline shows for Bowditch in Australia for 2006 as she heads back over to Europe and North America for the majority of the second half of the year to set up What Was Left for international release with a vigorous touring schedule to be announced over the coming months.
Clare s latest single Little Self Centred Queen has been welcomed at radio and television. It s a creeper pop song which again showcases her unique songwriting abilities.
