Bruce Mathiske

World Acclaimed Performer Bruce Mathiske, is releasing his brand new CD Live in Ireland. Recorded last year during his 10 night concert tour, the concert and albums feature his usual solo guitar virtuosity playing bass, rhythm and melody simultaneously and also his combo "Roots In Rhythm" on bass and percussion with music featuring rhythms of Latin America, The Mediterranean, Africa and flavours of gypsy, jungle and flamenco. His fiery fretwork and virtuosity from far flung corners of his solo guitar orchestra leave the audience in disbelief. This is his only Canberra concert for 2005.

... And Once Described As uninhibited by direction, it is now clear that guitar genius Bruce Mathiske's many eclectic music influences have evolved into a style all of his own. A new genre borne out of fiery fretwork unique to Mathiske, has been encapsulated in his new CD - Live in Ireland. The genre is music, that's right no fancy titles, no pigeon hole, just music and the crowds love it!

" The audience was enthralled, he wowed us from far flung corners of his guitar, we were all his! " - Adrian Morgan - The Scotsman

"Faster than a hummingbird on speed.... " - Anna Claus Irish Music Scene

Mathiske has been touring the world with his Australian built guitar playing bass, rhythm and melody simultaneously to packed houses and standing ovations. He celebrates his 10th year of touring the Emerald Isle with his new live release. Featuring his usual solo guitar virtuosity and also his combo on bass & percussion, the CD is striking a chord with music lovers who applaud his honesty, virtuosity and diversity.

"Powerful & addictive!" - Ron Forbes-Roberts/Acoustic Guitar Magazine USA

Some personal highlights have been performing with some of his early influences, legendary guitarists Charlie Bryd and Chat Atkins. After his appearance with Chat, the man voted "most influential guitarist - ever!" by readers of guitar magazine, expounded....

"this guy is a real threat!".

The album and concert feature Bruce's trademark solo guitar virtuosity with other tracks more band oriented incorporating his combo "Roots In Rhythm" on percussion and bass. A blend of magical cultures meet with rhythms of Latin America, Africa, the Mediterranean and some flavours of gypsy, flamenco and jungle. You will be taken on a journey with infectious rhythms and fiery fretwork. There's much more in store for Mathiske as he continues to push the boundaries of guitar magic.
